Philosophy
I believe that we are all inherently
flawed from birth. Many of our emotional and psychological problems can
been seen as misguided
attempts to ease the pain of our existence here on earth.
Ultimately,
that pain is not escapable until we are in heaven and see the One who
created
us face to face. For now we live by faith, taking comfort in
things
we cannot see, and feeling a sense of purpose when we live our lives
more
in tune with the kingdom of God.
I have found that there are many ways
to help people change. Sometimes, simply
explaining the truth to them does the trick. Often, a combination
of teaching and
coaching is helpful. Sometimes, people benefit from simply being
heard,
and cared for. I have been educated, trained and had experience
using many therapeutic interventions; but none of them is worth
anything without the grace of God.

Biographical Information
I was born in New Jersey, but when I
was nine years old, my grandparents and I moved to West Palm Beach,
FL. I met and married my wife, Karen while at Palm Beach Atlantic
College. In 1987, shortly after our first wedding anniversary, we
moved to Northern California so that I could attend Golden Gate Baptist
Theological Seminary. While I had known for a while that I wanted
to be in the ministry, I did not fully realize until 18 months after
entering Seminary that I was specifically called to be a Christian
Counselor. I spent the next nine years working in the field,
obtaining my Masters degree, and becoming a licensed therapist. I
have been in lay ministry since my college days, entered the
mental health field in 1989, and became ordained to the ministry in
1998, while serving as a part-time pastor of youth and small groups.
